A/B Switch Box Woes

I thought it might be fun to play around using two amps … switching between using one and using both (as a boost).

I ordered the Behringer A/B box and it worked great … except it only switches between A or B. Not both. :?:

Then I tried the Live Wire ABY1. It does do all the functions but, when in combined mode, it kills the volume by a lot. Sort of defeats the whole purpose.

The Radial Switchbone seems to do the trick but it is close to $300.

Anyone know a less expensive A/B box that actually works?

Thanks.

I haven't tried it yet myself, but I plan on getting the boss LS2 in the near future - it's really flexible in terms of the different input/output options and also provides indpendant volume controls for both inputs/outpus. You can grab it new for about 80$, which is admittedly more than most ab pedals, but I personally think it will be worth it since I've gone through a bunch of ****ty cheap ones myself.

Radial makes a lower featured/cost version that should do the trick. The trick being the reverse polarity switch.

Yup, I also just saw that they make another even less expensive one, called Big Shot.

I'll try that one and work my way up.

I have the Big Shot. If you're not too finicky, it works great. I've used mine on live gigs and I have not had any problems with it.
