One of my all - time favorite albums. Came out in 1984 and is just chock full of goodness. Ian McCulloch's crooner's voice and Will Sergeant's uber - tastefull riffs make for a near perfect album. My favorite cut is " The Killing Moon " ( one of the first songs I learned to play all the way thru ). The boys played this album in it's entirety at Radio City Music Hall a couple of years ago.
Enclosed is the Mtv video for " The Killing Moon " ( great video by the way ):

I think the first two are the ones you're "supposed to like," but this one was always my favorite. Seems I remember reading in Mojo magazine a few years back that the band was performing the whole album live.

They did a show or two at Radio City Music Hall last year or the year before. Played the complete " Ocean Rain " album.

Ocean Rain and Heaven Up Here are my favorites of theirs.
Which one is my absolute favorite depends on my mood at the moment.

The day this came out my friend who worked in town went and bought four copies for him, me and two other friends (we were still at school). I'd already had a sneak preview of some of it as the band played Ocean Rain and Nocturnal Me on The Tube, a seminal rock show on Channel 4 TV, and John Peel had played some tracks on his radio show beforehand too. I don't have it anymore - I think someone stole it while I was at University.
Have to say I preferred Heaven Up Here and Porcupine though - HUH because of the "dark" atmosphere it had and Porcupine due to songs like The Cutter, Back Of Love and Heads Will Roll.

The only Echo albums I have not cared for are " Reverberation " for obvious reasons and " What Are You Going To Do With Your Life." Their newest, " The Fountain " is quite good. I am hoping they will come to Dallas sometime soon so I can get my fix.

I got to see that Radio City show and it was great. They performed an opening "greatest hits" set and then came back with strings and performed "Ocean Rain." Really sounded nice.

Not to rub it in, Cast, but I wasn't even planning on going to the show but a couple of days before the show a music blog I was checking said that good seats had just been released. I checked and ended up in the 6th or 7th row dead center. That kind of thing never seems to happen for shows I'm dying to attend though.

Awesome choice! I've loved this album ever since the first time I heard it years and years ago!
