Bought one on Friday. What an amazing guitar. Those MFD pups are great. I think I may be a convert! No more teles in the house!

My S-500 is ash w/translucent honey finish, maple board.

I like my strats, I love my G&L"S!! You get Fender custom shop quality in every guitar they make and for way less $$$, The MFD pup was leo"s last stroke of genius along with the duel fulcrum trem. They also still hand wind an ALNICO pup to George and Leo's 1950's specs and is available in the George Fullerton Sig. model, real Fender Quack!
Check out www.guitarsbyleo for lot's of info on your new axe.
Don't be brand centric - Be Leo centric.

My very first G&L was an S-500, and it kicked a rather nice Strat right out of the house. Great guitars. And as I discovered, dangerously addictive: I've since sold the S-500, but I own both a Comanche and a Legacy, as well as several other G&L guitars and two G&L basses. You may want to make some room in your music room... ;-) Enjoy, CS :-)

I had a mid eighties S-500.... rosewood neck.... Most beautiful Str@t I've ever owned.... Best $395 I'd ever spent... I regret to this day selling it...

Congrats on the purchase bro!

My first G&L was also an S-500. Clear red over a great looking piece of ash. Went a little nuts after that one.............. the G&L count stands at 17 now.
