GAS for this ! lp junior copysmsuryan September 3rd, 2010, 06:22 PM i wondered if rondo would come out with this and BLAM! here it is...oh stupid bills keep me from buying this.. http://www.rondomusic.com/callistoschs.html refin September 3rd, 2010, 06:36 PM I was excited about that one until I saw the bolt-on neck. Dan German September 3rd, 2010, 08:29 PM I was excited about that one until I saw the bolt-on neck. Yeah, you won't find many fans of bolt-on necks around these parts. Owl-man September 3rd, 2010, 08:58 PM Oh! Why did you have to show me that - major GAS attack happening. studio1087 September 3rd, 2010, 09:04 PM The bolt on wouldn't bother me. Looks cool. I found an Epi SG Jr on craigslist for my son and it's a great little guitar.... Bolt on!.....and this thing doesn't have a tune-o-matic bridge like the Rondo.... http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k106/johnlg-2006/SGFullFrontalB.jpg The Rondo looks pretty cool to me. Tim Armstrong September 3rd, 2010, 09:06 PM I like it (I'd REALLY like one of those SG Juniors, though!). I, too, have an Epiphone Junior with a bolt-on neck and it's just profoundly better than I had any right to expect for the price... Tim TELE_BLUES September 3rd, 2010, 09:13 PM I wish i could try one out.Single p-90 guitars cause major g.a.s. attacks for me. Dan German September 3rd, 2010, 09:27 PM I found an Epi SG Jr on craigslist for my son and it's a great little guitar.... Bolt on!.....and this thing doesn't have a tune-o-matic bridge like the Rondo.... The Rondo isn't a TOM, it's an wraparound with intonation adjustment. Which for my money, is even better; I like the simpler look of the wraparound, but want to be able to adjust. Voila! TNO September 3rd, 2010, 10:07 PM SX P90 pickups are just the best...very articulate. Flaneur September 3rd, 2010, 10:23 PM I like my Epi LP Jr. Great P90, nice neck and stupidly cheap. (just as well, 'cos the tuners and jack were stupidly cheap also..........) bingy September 3rd, 2010, 10:30 PM Not crazy about the color. studio1087 September 3rd, 2010, 10:48 PM The Rondo isn't a TOM, it's an wraparound with intonation adjustment. Which for my money, is even better; I like the simpler look of the wraparound, but want to be able to adjust. Voila! You're right...it's not a real TOM but you can change the length of each string individually on the Rondo. I have a stock Les Paul Junior and I can't change the length of each string individually. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k106/johnlg-2006/Top-B-1.jpg I think the Rondo looks like a fun & functional P-90 guitar. Stuco September 3rd, 2010, 10:53 PM That cutaway shape is just not attractive to my eye. Minus two more points for color and bolt on. Still pretty cool tho. This model has caught my eye: http://www.rondomusic.com/furrianmnp90pbu.html Tim Armstrong September 3rd, 2010, 11:11 PM Hey John, you can get an adjustable wraparound bridge like this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/tarmadilo/photo-1.jpg (and the $21.95 whammy is a cinch to install, too!) Tim 07 road house September 3rd, 2010, 11:38 PM I was excited about that one until I saw the bolt-on neck. yeah those bolt on necks make guitars junky , lol Dan German September 4th, 2010, 12:49 AM Not crazy about the color. Me either, first thing I did was look to see if they offered another. Sadly, no. But in my recent shopping for a P90 guitar, this would have pushed all my buttons except the "pretty colour" button if I hadn't bought something else already. Dan German September 4th, 2010, 12:50 AM Hey John, you can get an adjustable wraparound bridge like this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/tarmadilo/photo-1.jpg (and the $21.95 whammy is a cinch to install, too!) Tim Tim, how's that vibrato holding up for you? I bought one around the same time as you and that project went by the wayside, so I still have it. And now this Jr. shows up... dang!! SteveO September 5th, 2010, 09:40 PM I put one of those vibratos and a roller bridge on my Ibanez Jet King.Works like a champ. Jeff R September 6th, 2010, 10:57 PM PRS discontinued the mahogany bodied SE Ones. There are still a few around at stupid low prices. They are a lot of fun. StrangerNY September 6th, 2010, 11:07 PM The bolt on wouldn't bother me. Looks cool. I found an Epi SG Jr on craigslist for my son and it's a great little guitar.... Bolt on!.....and this thing doesn't have a tune-o-matic bridge like the Rondo.... http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k106/johnlg-2006/SGFullFrontalB.jpg I've got an Epi LP Jr. that my wife bought for me years ago. I think it cost $99 new, and it's one of my favorite guitars. It doesn't go out on gigs, but I keep it in my studio and it's ended up on quite a few of the recordings I've done. Funny, though - I wanted one of those SG Juniors instead (Sam Ash ran a special sale of both guitars at the time), but the store was all out so I got a TV Yellow Jr. instead. - D StrangerNY September 7th, 2010, 01:46 AM PRS discontinued the mahogany bodied SE Ones. There are still a few around at stupid low prices. They are a lot of fun. I was lucky enough to get one of those. For the price, it's an amazing guitar. - D chillman September 7th, 2010, 02:00 AM Rondo Music offers about a kajillion models, but with no way to organize them except to sift through 19 pages on their website. As an information professional, this drives me nuts. Hell, as a potential customer it drives me nuts! goldtopper September 7th, 2010, 05:43 AM http://www.rondomusic.com/ad201tvy.html This one has the set neck, 2 p90s and neck binding. $259! imsilly September 7th, 2010, 06:46 AM I think it should be mandatory for everyone to own a P90ed guitar whether or not it is bolt on, bridge only or cheap. Those pickups just scream. Saying that I've seen regular modern Les Paul Juniors for sale dirt cheap, I'd look for one of those first. Not a patch on the originals, but then they don't cost five grand. This thread is making me GAS for a new P90ed guitar! Colo Springs E September 7th, 2010, 06:58 AM http://www.rondomusic.com/ad201tvy.html This one has the set neck, 2 p90s and neck binding. $259! If it was me, that's the one I'd go for, much better looking guitar. I'll come to refin's defense regarding the bolt-on comment. SOME guitars should not be bolt-on: Les Pauls and SGs are the first two I can think of. They just look wrong without a set neck. Just my opinoin; doesn't mean bolt-on is inferior to set neck, I just don't like it on certain guitars. Tim Armstrong September 7th, 2010, 07:05 AM Higgy, this cheap vibrato works at least as well as a Bigsby. I use 10s and have no tuning issues with it at all! Tim Dan German September 7th, 2010, 08:17 AM I'll come to refin's defense regarding the bolt-on comment. SOME guitars should not be bolt-on: Les Pauls and SGs are the first two I can think of. They just look wrong without a set neck. I agree completely (I was mostly making joke). LP or SG? Set neck or no sale. I've seen semi-hollows with a bolt-on neck, and that seems wrong. Though I owned one (Vox Super Lynx) and it was a fine guitar. With a Jr. I would prefer it, but it's not a deal breaker. The colour on this one is more of a deal-breaker to me. I agree that the AD201s look way better, but if they offered the SX in a different colour I'd be all over it. 1 p'up, intonatable wraparound, yeah baby. Higgy, this cheap vibrato works at least as well as a Bigsby. I use 10s and have no tuning issues with it at all! Tim Good to hear. Now I have to decide what guitar it goes on... dqami September 7th, 2010, 12:26 PM If bolt necks bother you, they have this one for the same price. http://www.rondomusic.com/callistojr.html SixShooter September 7th, 2010, 12:49 PM If bolt necks bother you, they have this one for the same price. http://www.rondomusic.com/callistojr.html Does anyone have one of these? A review? SixShooter September 7th, 2010, 12:52 PM http://www.rondomusic.com/ad201tvy.html This one has the set neck, 2 p90s and neck binding. $259! Why would you use one soap bar and one dog ear?: 57944 chillman September 7th, 2010, 02:13 PM Why would you use one soap bar and one dog ear?: 57944 Yeah that IS weird. Every guitar in their roster is just a little off to me. This one included, for that reason. xjazzy September 7th, 2010, 05:10 PM SX P90 pickups are just the best...very articulate. +1. I have a SX LP special and love the pickups |
