dirty jack plate...

What can I use to clean the jack on my guitar. I've been having problems with getting a good connection lately and need to clean it. I was told electronic cleaner from radio shack, but wanted to ask here first.

<li>I use a Phllips (flat won't werk usually) screw driver with a fine piece of sandpaper.
<li>Gently turn and move back and forth until the stuff iss gone.
