Title pretty much says it all. I am not looking to spend a lot of money because I rarely use pedals. Recently though, I have been really playing with my tone and leaving my box. I don't want to spend a lot because, most pedals I buy sit in my drawer or I sale them at a loss.

Thanks

Marshall Vibratrem is a great pedal and pretty well priced seeing as it is a trem and vibrato pedal combined - and both with a wide range of tones available.

Had mine for 10 years or so and love it.

Could you explain the difference between vibrato and tremelo?

Schenkadere,
Do you actually have the Belcat? Looks promising, espeically being in a hammond-style box...

In a technical way - no!!

From a practical point of view, tremolo is (to my ears) an organic sounding rise and fall (swell) in the volume of a note or chord. It can almost be made to sound like a delay pedal offering repeated notes.

Vibrato is a more chorusey/phasey sort of sound - sometimes like a Univibe type effect if set properly.

I use the Vibratrem for both type of effects and - apart from the extreme settings which are useless to my ears - this pedal is as good as any I've tried or heard - including several boutique ones.

Tremolo affects volume, where Vibrato affects pitch. Fender notoriously used these terms to whim and we will forever confuse them. That bar you shake on your bridge, vibrato--even though everyone says trem bar.

That is unless I got confused again and have them swapped in my head.

Get the Dano one. The Boss one's good too but the Dano one costs less.

No, but I did play it quite a bit and it's really very nice especially for the price. Very similar to a feel of the Boss TR-2. I would buy one over the Cool Cat simply for the casing and that the wave control is a pot, not a switch.

It's nice. Uses a bypass similar to MXR pedals. Doesn't feel cheap.

BTW...Belcat is the OEM for Modtone and Hofner. The Modtone Harmonic Tremor is the same pedal for almost 30 bucks more.

Coolcat Trem right on top of my mind. It spends its days in my drawer but it never bothers me cuz it is really cheap.

Guitar Center here has the Line 6 tremolo pedal for $30 this weekend. Presumably other locations have them at the same price.

+1 very good pedal.

I tried the Dano and thought it a bit of tone-sucker. I tried out every trem pedal in a big store (Boss, DOD, Beringer, Dano, Line6, MXR, etc, long long list), and picked the Marshal as the best: not the most expensive either.

Tremolo modulates the amplitude.
Vibrato modulates the frequency.

The Vibratrem can switch between both and can vary between square wave to saw-tooth. If you wind the wobble time off, you can even use it as a sort of treble booster.

Got one (http://line6.com/tonecore/tapTremolo.html) (link includes demos). It's OK.

Also has a stereo port for the other past & present modules using them, so it's a steal just for that.
