The moisture content of my Mesquite wood is too high. I've been told by the fellow that sold me the wood that it will have to sit in a wooden crate attached to the vent on a dryer. I wonder how many pairs of underpants will have to be dryed? After all thats where I'm also told the tone comes from. This is all very confusing and much too technical.

My Line 6 Spider III - 30 watt sucks. The foot board doesn't always respond. The amp doesn't always work. Right now it's serving as a stand for my SCXD.

I have something wrong in my rig somewhere. I'll be playing away and the volume gets softer and softer until I end up playing accoustically. If I unplug the guitar and plug it back in it returns to normal.

I'm hoping it's a dodgy lead and not my amp.

Major hum just started on my Frankenstrat; which I built. Either it's the builders fault or bad solder. Either case I'm responsible.

Wanted to do something with a Texas theme for a long time. At first I thought about a California theme, but Avocado guitars don't work.:lol:

First I was just going to add some things to one of his BarnBurners but I'd seen some amazing furniture made from Mesquite and there was a fellow who had an article about building a Strat out of Mesquite. Couple of people have done them on TDPRI also.

I found a guy who builds pool tables out of Mesquite and he had some large rough cut wood. I knew it was dense but didn't figure on how much the stuff cracks near the figured areas. Ron noticed I wasn't too happy with how big the cracks were in the best pieces (beyond just character in the wood) and came up with a great alternative that keeps the theme and both the Strat and the Tele will be light and have a recognizable sound; Mesquite caps over Alder.

We're doing some other neat stuff with the theme. He commented the only time he's used Mesquite was for BBQ's as well.

Hoodie, in Texas we call them little critters sparrows spelled Mosquito.

Unsure if you'd find any avocado wood of sufficient size to make a guitar body, but wood turners have made bowls of it, and small jewelry boxes of it.

The Alice's Restaurant story was mostly based on real events, the garbage story, the church, the blind judge, the 27 colour 8x10's etc as well as most of the aspects of the draft story. Guthrie was demonstrating through the song that even the lightest criminal record meant it was easier to dodge the draft.

Rockwell's studio was in Stockbridge and he used many of the local residents for models.
