Mine is technically not LPB but Bahama Blue Metallic but I think it looks the same. Show me yours and we shall see.

Not a great shot, but....minty 1966 Coronado II in Lake Placid Blue with matching headstock, gold guard, checkerboard binding and D'Armond pickups. When it was new this was the most expensive guitar in the Fender line, almost twice as expensive as a Telecaster.

Same Nocaster with parchment pickguard added recently and different lighting - totally different look. Not "traditional" but I love it!

LOVE LPB with a maple neck. Maybe someday I'll find a cast-off nocaster neck to throw on my 62....someday.

The maple does contrast nicely against the blue.

Yes, it does. I was always a "rosewood board goes with LPB" guy but after having this guitar I love the fat maple neck on it

Never fell for it like that until I saw it with a white guard though....that's perfect. Would love to see it with a 3 ply mint...hmm

Nice pics! I have a Lake Placid Blue MIJ Mustang with racing stripes, but it's laying in parts at the moment... I lost the screws that hold the switches, and havent found replacements yet. :s

My partner, whilst she loves to hear me play my guitars, appears to have no interest in what they look like whatsoever. I've always thought that a bit odd.

Your '62 is rather nice too, sir! Reminds me of my sold CS '63 above.

Actually, this is a Partscaster. The body is MIJ early 2000's and the neck is CIJ mid nineties. Since I bought the body partially reliced I finished off the process. Now it's a total Frankencaster...

This is mine. I've owned it since late last year. Its the most beautiful colour I've ever seen a guitar of any kind in and I can't wait to also get a strat and maybe a jag in that colour if I can.

I have had her since 1971. My brother bought it at a Lake Tahoe pawn shop for $125 with orig case. It had Grovers on it and a slide switch on the pickguard that ( I guess ) was an attempt to make an out-of-phase switching option. I removed it because it was the ultimate ice-pick. The bridge pickup died a few years back from internal rust so I had Jerry Amalfitano rewind it. EXCELLENT work by Jerry and at a ridiculously low fee. My goal was to make it the best player rather than perfect retro stock. My tech is Steve Crisp who used to live in Austin and did extensive work on Fenders for Jr Brown, both Vaughns, Eric Johnson, and many other name players. He really got in there and replaced the bastard wiring job with NOS cloth wire, cleaned and reseated the neck pickup, mounted the Callaham bridge ( it had a six saddle Tele bridge from the 70s on it ), put on aged repro Klusons, removed a sticker from the lower bout and cleaned and compounded the goo off the face of the body as well as doing extensive fretboard cleaning. WOW, what a difference in playability, resonance, tone, looks, every-damn-thing! She's a real "stinger" and we're redoing our marriage vows. Run into my Kendrick amp with just a touch of Keeley compression is 7th Heaven!

Lake Placid Blue with a black pickguard - the perfect combo!

I'd put up a pic of mine, but it's in bits at the mo - gives me the incentive to put it back together!
