Hey guys :)
I have about 400 dollars to spend. I can buy from ToneFactor.com only because they are cheap and ship worldwide.
Anyway, my guitar is an Ibanez SZ520FM and my amp is a Crate V18 2-12.
I am looking for distortion, overdrive and delay pedals (400 dollars for all).
My goal is to get (or get as close as I can) Andy Timmons' overdrive tone (like in Electric Gypsy for example) and something between Andy's and Paul Gilbert's distortion tone for lead (like in Deliver us - Andy Timmons or Technical Difficulties - Paul Gilbert).
I thought about getting the BB Preamp with a distortion pedal, but I have no idea whan distortion I should get. I also thought about the BB Plus Preamp, but I don't know if it can get to that lead tone I want.
About delay pedal, I thought about the DD-3 (by boss) or the Memory Toy (by electro harmonix). How are these? I only need a delay pedal that will add more "volume" to my sound.

Thank you very much :)

If you really want Andy Timmons sounds might I suggest getting a Boss ME 70. It's got everything and it's $299. I own 50 pedals BUT I got the ME 70 a few months ago and now I wish I didn't go out and buy 10 different delay pedals. It's got every distortion you could want and being a big Gilbert fan myself I can get that Racer X sound. Just saying save you $$$ and get one of these. It's hands down the best one on the market over the Line 6 and whatnot.

I'm not sure I want to buy a multi effect.
Right now I also have a Line 6 Floor POD Plus and I think I prefer buying individual pedals.

The MXR Carbon Copy. Best thing going for delay right now. $149.

I love my DD-3, very good just to keep it all set at 12 oclock. As far as distortion goes I'd check out anything by Fulltone, that is Andy's sound. You can't really go wrong with an OCD or Fulldrive.

I actually thought about the OCD... But I will still need a distortion pedal.
Any suggestions?

If I were looking for those specific effects, I'd look into:
1. Fulltone's GT-500 (But I'd rather have the Fulldrive II.)
2. Boss DD3

I highly recommend boss delays. They are decently priced and well-made. I also like the Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde pedals. They are excellently made, and they sound awesome. Those particular pedals have distortion and overdrive. Each side of the pedal has two different "modes". The distortion side has a sharp and blunt mode. The overdrive side has a bass boost that you can turn on and off. It is very versatile. It has a mids control so you can dial in tons of tones. It is a good pedal and I highly recommend it for any style. I have played blues, rock, hard rock, and metalish stuff with it. It should easily do anything you want. A boss delay is about $150 and a Jekyll and Hyde is also $150. That would leave you with about $75 after tax to buy another pedal or whatever you choose to buy.

Dunno about the artist you are speaking of, but, I have a Malekko ekko 616 and it is fantastic. It is around the same price as the carbon copy. Both are analog delays.

The GT-500 is fantastic...just got one...love it! Really shocked me. I was able to try it before dishing out the cash at a local GC...they only had one. I like that the boost and distortion are independent unlike the Fulldrive.

I just got a Boss ME50 out of the ads here (thanks again, Allan!) and it is quite good. I know you said you weren't thinking of a multi-effects pedal but I gotta say, the ME50 is so good that I'm getting rid of my single pedals. ME50 has some interesting things for me: reverb (my Lunchbox and AC4TV don't have it built-in), noise gate which works perfectly, a harmonizer, compressor adds major sustain for the Tele, other cool stuff. And great thing is that all the knobs are right there, no searching through hard-to-see display screens. Super easy to tweak and the number of OD pedals is great. I wish I had switched to it before now. The Lunchbox AND the ME50 fit in a small duffle bag and weigh less than 20 pounds together. Now THAT'S the way to lug your gear, baby!

I like the ME-50...sold one for a friend and had some time to play with it. ME-50 and a Lunchbox...what a great gig combo! all you could ever need.

I wonder how the ME-50 compares with the newer ME-70???
