I know what the answer is, I just don't want to do it.

I have a brand new pair of SD's and also the special SD mounting rings that incorporate switching. With these rings the pickup wiring attaches right at the pickup.

The right thing to do would be to cut the wiring short at the pickups to make a neat and professional installation. The only downside is that they would then be married to the rings, and could not be used in another instrument that doesn't take rings.

I hate the thought of cutting all that lead off, but I don't like the idea of having it all piled up in the pickup cavity either.

Re-reading this I guess there's really only one choice - snip!
