Hey there Tele newb here,

I recently bought a US California Series Tele with a trem system.
It has Stock Tex Mex Pickups... (Humbucker in neck, single coil Bridge)

I was thinking about switching pickups to get more of that twang.

Any Ideas? What if I switched the two pickups so that the Humbucker is the bridge and the single coil on the neck?

I thought California series had a vintage bridge. If you have a trem system that may be your problem. You'll get more twang with the single coil in the bridge position with round saddles.

Dont switch them, it would give you less twang plus you would have to re-route your body. As kidmo said, a portion of that Tele sound comes from the hardtail bridge.

Hi, I was working with Sublime With Rome this year, and the two Humbucker guitar was causing some difficulty for Rome's Sound, hes a_single coil guy_
I don't make Humbuckers,
So my friend Evan Skopp @ Seymour Duncan send us a set of "Stag Mags" to try, & they worked great, they have real Single Coil Pole Piece magnets , and you can tap them / split the coils for a true single coil experience .. they definitively twang, and sound pretty cool...

hope that helps
