You know, I've heard this song thousands of times, but a couple of days ago, I heard it on the radio and I cranked it up and it affected me completely different for some reason. It was renewed. Now I listen to it all the time.

Love this performance. Not bad for a group of 16 year olds from a small town here in Indiana, and of course, lead singer/guitarist is Rick Derringer:

I was born in 1964, so I missed this whole era of beat music, but I vaguely remember some of the songs. I wish we had music like this today. Oh well.

Rick Derringer, the Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo guy.

Cool clip, it was a big hit when I was a kid.

I was a pretty young kid then but this and Louie Louie and Wild Thing were the songs you tried to learn and play when they first came out. Every Jr. High School and High School kid learned these songs.

Hello Hello--

....and the only "McCoy" to play on that record was Derringer! His vocals were recorded over a pre-existing track by The Strangeloves [of "I Want Candy", " Night Time", "Cara Lyn" , etc..fame and headed by producer Richard Gottehrer] If you listen closely you can tell that it was taken from a Strangeloves album. Of course, all The Strangeloves' tracks were studio guys...

If memory serves, all three songs were said to have off-color lyrics. Dunno why and never did get it...probably because I was only 12 years old or so...ahhhh, innocence. Today's kids don't seem to have that anymore.

Great songs though!

I'd call this a semi-old video. Certainly not from the 60s.

I slept over with some kids one night in 7th grade. When we got up Saturday morning, someone put this song on and played it loud. I hadn't heard much popular music at that point in my life, but this song was like a crack pipe of sound, I made them play it over and over. Other songs that hit me this way were Downtown while shooting baskets, and Leaning On the Lampost while painting a fence. Music is something else, isn't it?
