Don Mare July 20th, 2010, 11:27 PM I was going to do this:
quote:"To get your Don Mare Pickups, place all Orders in On the 1st week of each new month"
But I've had second thoughts and put the website "ON" and I'm still open for new orders.. so I'm not going to change anything right now,
I'll have a new plan to be announced soon.
sorry for any confusion..
Don
gionnio July 21st, 2010, 01:38 AM No worries, I placed an order for a set of Donocasters on the 5th of this month, but if you're running behind I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
Don Mare July 24th, 2010, 06:21 PM Ok, here's what happened folks,
Prices have slightly increased
but its minuscule I promise!
I added just enough to cover 5 years of inflating parts, supplies, new taxes.., postage, S&H expenses ..etc..
For TelesŪ it was a $7.00 per pickup increase, along with $10.00 for Shipping and Handling
for a total of $24.00 per set, or 12.00 ea.
For StratsŪ: Just $14.00 per set or $4.67 each
(Strats have less parts to buy and less handling etc.)
I've put this off for 5 years.
But budgets were not balancing here at all anymore,
with all these parts and supplies shooting up every six months or so over a 5 year period.
So I calculated the differences and made adjustments.
I'm very sorry to have to do this but it was totally unavoidable!
new base price is
$239.00 TelesŪ ( Old price $215.00)
and $259.00 StratsŪ ( Old price $245.00 )
FenderŪ, is the trade names and trade mark and are the property of the respective company, In which I have no affiliations.

Jefemaximo September 4th, 2010, 12:21 AM Well worth it, Don. Don't keep yourself from making an honest living off of a great product. We all lose if you go out of business.
Larry F September 4th, 2010, 10:49 AM I love my Don Mares.
Stylemaster September 21st, 2010, 01:43 PM I'm glad to see you made a formal announcement here. I was surprised when I discovered it on my own but your explanation is appreciated. I love the Hayride set I bought last year (you rewound the bridge for me...I'm Andy L).
Don Mare September 21st, 2010, 08:05 PM FWIW:
I did get my wait times _way down_ here, just 5 to 6 weeks on any new orders,,,
( just doing a little roumor control ) - My stint as Guitar Guru For all the new Ernie Ball Guitars to be used on tour with Sublime-With -Rome, caused me to fall behind here, and my waits hit an ugly 9 to 12 weeks,
This DAMAGED my business by 50% as it curbed off future sales. I wished I'd never had tried to help insure the band used those Ernie Ball-Musicmans, cause after loosing 3 weeks working on those guitars day and night and chasing the band around to fix any problems or rework those guitars to perfection!
- the band bailed out on the Musicmans anyways !! (urrr!) and went over to a Fender endorsement deal -
So, all that work went right down the drain for me and a big loss for Ernie..... and for the last 3 months my business suffered the consequences.. about a 50% fall off on orders due to complaints all over the internet about 12 week wait times...
So please pass it on that my waits are back to normal here now, ok - 5 to 6 weeks - thanks BigDog!!
