Esquire tone circuit question...

I'm building and Esquire style one pickup guitar.
I'd like to have a tone circuit which would allow me to approximate the sound of a neck pickup. The traditional wiring scheme is too muddy and bassy for me. I know Fender makes the "Greasebucket," which might be one option, but does anyone have a favorite circuit they use to get as close as possible to a usable neck pickup tone?
Ideally, I'd like to have a normally functioning volume and tone knob and have the switch wired to give me a rythmn tone.
I'm looking for a sound that's as close to a wide open neck pup as possible--without being muddy and gainless..

--I'm putting a Mare SS in for the pup.
--I'd like a normally functioning volume pot with a high-pass/treb bleed set-up.
--I'd like to run a normally functioning Fender TBX tone pot.

--I'm thinking of two positions on the switch.
--I'd like one switch position to be the "rythmn/neck" sounding tone.
--The second position to be the "bridge" tone.
--The TBX should work with both settings.

Can anyone help me with a scheme that would accomplish this?

I have a Fralin vintage stock stagger in mine, and I have the RS Guitarworks vintage Esquire wiring (http://www.rsguitarworks.net/rsstore/product_info.php?cPath=47_61&products_id=396).

Obviously, tone is very subjective, but I really like this combination. I don't find the forward position to be muddy at all, in fact I find it quite usable. I use the middle position, with the tone control rolled off a little most of the time, then use the rear position as a "boost".
