Identify this Tele bridge pickup

This bridge pickup and bridge come from a partscaster I built in the early 1980's. I can't remember the history of the two though. The bridge is definitely a genuine Fender part that I installed. Chances are that it and the pickup were bought together, so my best bet is that the pickup is genuine Fender too. But I'm not sure. It has black and white wires. The pole pieces are at different heights. There is no brand name anywhere. There weren't many other Tele pickup makers around in those days. It is wrapped with fabric of some sort (see pic). There is no metal base plate.

So is this a 1980's Fender bridge pup ? If so, what's the reputation on those pups ?

Mine looks pretty similar, but doesn't have the braid (mine has a black wire) or the metal base plate (which could of course have been an addition).
