Got my FD-2 back...

I stopped using it awhile back, got into other stuff, and sold it cheap to a friend. Well, I got bored and wanted to try it again, and he wasn't using it, so I bought it back yesterday.

I don't ever remember this pedal sounding this good. It sounded great, but not like this. Maybe I just needed some time off from it to get my ears fresh. I'm really glad I got it back. It's filling a niche I've been trying to fill since I got rid of it. But, I got rid of it because I couldn't get it to do what it's doing now. Weird huh?

I guess it just takes some extra time to fully appreciate some things.

What version is it? I have the Blue version w/ the white knobs and toggle switch for vintage/fm/comp cut. I still love mine.

Same one as yours.

I loved it when I bought it, then somehow just started thinking after awhile that it was nice, but not so nice as some people seemed to think it was. I honestly didn't hear much difference between it, and a lot of my other OD pedals.

Now that I have it back, it sounds totally different than I remember it sounding. The clarity and transparency is out of this world, the tones I'm getting out of it are nothing short of amazing to me.

Could be that when I got rid of it, I was using humbuckers pretty exclusively. Right now I am on a strict single coil diet. Could be the difference I'm hearing. I don't know, I just know I love it.

Sweet. I usually run mine in the FM mode w/ the tone @ around 9:00 and the overdrive @ 12. I mostly play single coils through it, too, though I do like the clarity it can give a bucker guitar on the neck position. I also like that it doesn't mush up chords.

I'm running mine almost exactly the same. I've got the tone around 10:00 or 11:00 usually, and the gain around 1:00, but my main gig amp right now is a fairly dark sounding Marshall. And yeah, chords are a dream with this pedal. get all your drive, still hear all your notes. It's really great.

Anyone run their FD2 at 18V?

I was so tempted to try it a while back but then just got lazy trying to track down at 18v power supply...

I've never tried it w/ 18v. Sounds fantabulous w/ a mere 9v to my ears. No need for fancy adaptors.
