Midnight Man

One of my favorite "guitar" songs of all time from Joe Walsh when he led the James Gang. A literal clinic on tone, hooks and how to nail a solo. The sweet voice of Mary Sterpka is a bonus.

I have always assumed this was a Tele except possibly the solo on his LP or Gretsch 6120. I wanted to confirm the guitars on this cut but after searching the web I came up empty. Can anyone tell me what he used?

And for anyone who has never heard this classic...turn it up and try not to hit the "Replay" button:

I think I remember seeing him play this on Midnight Special or some other show...

I'm pretty sure some parts of the rest of the song are played on a Les Paul... he was pretty in love with the Paul for a while...

Thanks for that, that song had slipped into the seldom-used portion of my memory! Great great stuff...

That was . I've never heard that song before. But you know the first song I thought of when I was listening?

Especially the guitar behind the vocals...
