Oh Boy, I just put a Duncan JB Jr. in my PRS

Okay, I mentioned this a few weeks ago: I love my PRS EG, it's a bad ass player that feels solid and has the smoothest trem I encountered.

But I always thought that the stock single coil pickups were lacking, they didn't bring out the full sound of this Mahogany body and mahogany set-in neck, so my intention was to replace the bridge pickup with something that had more balls. I wanted the JB Jr. because it meant that I didn't have to cut the pickguard and I wanted one in white so it would sit in descreet with the other pickups.

It took way longer than anticipated for the pickup to arrive at the shop where I ordered it but today I got the call.

Boy, talk about improvement, it still has that warm strat-like quack that I know and love but once you flip the switch to the bridge pickup, it sounds like a Good Gibson Les Paul Junior. As I'm typing this down, I just finished a couple of hours playing the guitar full blast through my Marshall JCM 900 combo and what a rush that was.

I can't wait to take the guitar to rehearsals and to take it on the road.

I'll second the idea that PRS guitars need new pickups. I replaced my CE-22 pups with some Vintage Vibe pickups. Totally transformed the guitar.

I'll "third" it...............put some burstbuckers in my 2000 Single Cut and they really brought it to life.
