I've noticed a problem with me DS-1 distortion the past few gigs. I bought a fender deluxe reverb 65 reissue and everything on my board sounds great, just the way i want it to, but when i kick in the ds-1 then every note sounds like it has a ping sound at the top of the register. I use a fender twin also, but i don't get that ping noise when using the twin. PPPLease help.

Have you played around with the tone controls to remove some of the highs?

yeah, but the only way I can get the tone to quit clipping is to turn the tone control all the way down. I'm getting ready to do a modification to the pedal to see if i can take some of the high tones out of the circuit.

try www.indyguitarist.com
he has do it yourself mods, and one of the things he makes em do is get rid of the "ice picky" top end, as well as adding some bass that is often lost with stock boss pedals

I done the the modification on the ds-1 and it sounds great, but it only sounds great through an old fender champ SE, blues junior, and a twin. I'm still having having problems finding a suitable distortion for the deluxe reverb. I'm gonna try a EH big muff today, to see if it helps. Any more suggestions?????????
