Hello,

I know I'm a newbie here but I have a question about identifying a possible telecaster. I picked up the guitar from a neighbor who was throwing it out, he's an older gentleman and said it was his sons. It has seen better days. I'm curios if this is an actual Fender or if it is a knock off, if it's a fender and it's worth parts or restoration I'd like to get it into the correct hands.

I've done some serial number research online and come up with the following information:

Your guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1995 - 1996

The guitar has a Fender 50th on the next, "Made in Japan" at the bottom of the neck, and has Gotch machine heads.

Has you can see by the pictures, it's seen better days.

you'll get a much better response to your question if you start a new thread in the Telecaster Discussion Forum...title it something like Gold Label Squire info needed....and welcome to the forum...

Hey all,

Thanks for the responses on the guitar. I've got it up on ebay in case a fender enthusiast wants it. I've looked for info on this thing and it seems almost non existent. As far as parts to fix it, I've found none. I'm just going to sell it for parts.

I've always played regular acoustics, how do the electric ones sound?
