Hey guys, I'm in the finish stages of my first scratch build. It's a set neck, and I'm finishing it as a complete instrument, instead of finishing the neck and body seperately. I used a couple of coats of shellac, followed by a white base coat. I plan to follow that with a color coat. I plan to paint the neck and body the same color. I've already got a white base coat. My question is this: If I follow the coat of white with a color coat, when I remove the masking tape to apply clear coats(I'll remask the fretboard closer to the edges of the frets, as I like to clearcoat the sides of the fretboard) will I see a white line on the edge of the neck where the color coat (which is over the base coat) meets the fretboard? Also ,suggestions to avoid this requested. Thanks a lot.
