Bonneville Bruce August 14th, 2004, 11:56 PM I'm frustrated by the lack of availability of any style of Fender electric 12-string.
They did bring out a Strat 12-string in the last year, but there is precious little, if anything, in any of the literature about it. My local dealer, Old Boise Guitar Co., says that their dealer catalog lists a Strat 12 for around $850, but there is no mention of it on their web site.
Fender, why the shame concerning your 12-string Strat? Don't hide you light under a basket. There must be enough interest to put out a production 12-string electric.
How about a 12-string Strat and Tele? It makes me faint just thinking about it. I can't afford to have a custom made, so just for me, bring out a series of MIM 12-string electrics. (Make them Surf Green, with a bridge 'bucker, and I'll buy one of each.)
Come on, I double-dog dare ya.

Jack Wells August 18th, 2004, 07:31 PM The new Stratocaster XII is made in Japan. I don't think Fender USA likes to import the Japanese models. The model number is ST12-90TX. It is currently selling for 94,500 Yen. I have no idea what that is in US Dollars.

Here's a link to the Fender Japan website

You could always order one from Ishibashi.

Jack Wells August 23rd, 2004, 11:11 AM According to this link.........

the new Stratocaster XII is 72.000 Yen from Ishibashi.
That's about $659. Maybe someone who has ordered from them can tell what the shipping would be.
WallyArms August 23rd, 2004, 03:09 PM for at least a short time. I remember MF, and maybe GuitarTrader, having them listed on their web sites. I don't remember the exact price, but it was between $600 and $700. They were lised for a very short time, like some of the Korean import models (but they never dropped to a clearance price...).
originalritz September 2nd, 2004, 11:57 PM Fender should reissue the electric XII from the 60's.
its the one with the jaguar style body and the 'hockey stick' headstock.
That would be a sweet 12 string

i agree with you, the XII string strats dont really do it for me, i like the idea of having a unique model just for the XII string, besides, the headstock on those is much better than whats on the strat XII, however id be a bit more satisfied with the hockey stick headstock on a strat though...oh well, im probably too into tradition and originality to like too much new stuff...-john
ravindave_3600 September 14th, 2004, 05:13 PM Greetings, fellow ID-iot.
Doyle Hoff at Doyle's Broadway Guitars in Boise has built a hockey stick 12-string tele. I played it while he was building it, and he hadn't worked out all the bugs yet, but it seemed like it was going to turn into a nice guitar. You might want to check it out.
On the other hand, if you can get one of those Japanese Strat XIIs for $800 or so, that might be a good buy, and I'll come to your house and play it, too.
DISCLAIMER: Doyle and I are friends.
ADDENDUM: Just because we're friends is no reason for you to think poorly of him.
SeanGephart September 22nd, 2004, 04:11 PM I have a nice 80's model, in Shorline gold (refin) with Gold lace sensors, that I've had since the 80's. The newer models have a different bridge and I haven't actually seen one in the States yet...
