OK... my paisley strat has finally come together. This has been some time in the making! But, it's nice to have it at this point. I'm trying to get it pretty close and then I will disassemble for final sanding. I wanted to give it some extra time to breathe anyway.

Here she is for now.

Comments welcome.

On to my question. I've installed a set of Bill Lawrence Keystones. Any suggestions on pup height for these? I read something about 1 nickel or 2 nickels for these. Not sure what that means. Also, any help on how to locate the middle and neck in relation to the bridge height would also be helpful.

THANKS!

1 nickel 2 nickle = clearance between the string and the pickup pole.

1 on the treble end........... 2 on the bass end OR:

5/64" treble, 9/64" bass. Drill bits work nice for a feeler gauge.

I play a chord string by string on one pickup then, fine tune the others to be close in output to that or each other you could say (balance).

For the most part, Strat pups sound nice LOW, but the "nickle" setting is a good start and you may like it there.

Thanks.

The color scheme worked out by chance. I found the fabric at a local craft store. The light blue color was a perfect match for Krylon "Blue Ocean Breeze". I was thinking Daphne or Surf Green. It's a little in between.

I had to redo the burst a couple of times to get it right. I used a cardboard cutout to get the burst close.

Thanks for the info on pu height. I will play with it and see what I find.
