Blues Junior reverb tanks?

Does changing the reverb tank on a Blues Junior noticeably change the tone/timbre of the reverb or would I have to make changes to the circuit? I am building a bigger cab and thinking about replacing the stock tank with a 17" tank. Any difference with brands, Ruby vs Accutroncs? Any noticeable difference in 2 spring vs 3 spring tanks? Also, I may need to get the vertically mounted tank to attach to the sidewall of the cabinet. Anyone ever use these? Any issues? Thanks for your help.

I bought a Blues Jr. with a non-functioning reverb tank. Replaced it with the Ruby reverb and have had no problems.

Fender addressed the reverb issue in the different versions of their design. So it would depend somewhat on what version you have. There are articles for mods to the reverb circuit on the web. If I recall correctly my Reverberocket 2 has a side mounted tank so that would seem to be an acceptable practice. Good luck with whatever you try, probably anything would sound better (seems like the reverb is the one thing people complain about with the BJr).
