Thinking about picking up a Telecaster soon and found this website through a poster on another forum.

So I thought "Why not join and learn something for a change?" So here I am. :lol:

I currently have a Fender Road Worn Strat that I play through a Marshall MG15DFX. It's not the best setup, but it works.

I'm thinking about trading the Strat in to get a Telecaster as well as trading the marshall and an old LTD F series I have to get the funds for a Super Champ XD.

I'm here to shoot the breeze and learn about Telecasters.

I suspect that you'll find a telecaster through a SCXD more inspiring than your current setup. Especially if you can manage to upgrade the SCXD with an Eminence Ragin Cajun speaker. Turns a pretty good amp into a great amp, apparently.

But my advice is to shop around a bit and try out several telecasters if you can. Many find that one particular tele will 'speak to you' more than most others...you just won't want to put it down. Worth looking around for one of those.
And check out the Squier CV range. Loads of respect around here and unbelievable value for the price.
It might be worth your while to check out one of the VOX modeling amps as well, if you can. And perhaps plug a tele into a little tube amp like a Blues Junior and see what you think. A simple tube amp like a BJ, or a VOX AC4, might have more or less one sound, but if that sound is 'just right' for you you might like that more than having a heap of not-quite-there sounds.

I have a really good opprutunity to buy a truck I've been looking for. At a really good price. So I put my Strat up in order to get some money to put towards it.
