I tried to install Audacity on my Dad's computer this morning, but his AVP won't let it run. Too much spyware bundled with the download. Has anyone else had this problem? When I put it on my computer a couple months ago it installed and ran with no problems.
FWIW, it's in Hotbar, not actually Audacity itself, that the spyware seems to be hidden, and I don't recall Hotbar as part of the download when I did mine.

Download it again from a trusted site, scan it with your AVP when done dl. then try to install it.
it might be false alarm, but maybe not.
executable files are always suspicous to AVPs but thats the way a program gets installed.

Download from the source, eh....

If you really wanna avoid install issues, there's always this option:
Audacity Zip file
* Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista: Audacity 1.2.6 zip (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/latest/audacity-win-zip/audacity-win-1.2.6.zip) file (3.0 MB) - If you cannot run the installer because of restricted permissions, download and unzip this file instead.
