Hello,,Just installed STK2 Duncan in Tele.Black wire to swich
and green to ground (back of pot).There is small braided,bare
wire along side of green one.Diagram does not say where this
bare wire goes.Do I even need it? Stk1 is working fine in neck
position..HELP!!! I CAN'T PLAY MY TELE!!!!

It probably goes to ground with the green wire. Bare ones always do and they usually ground a cover or baseplate or something.
Just solder it to the back of a pot. Worst that can happen is your telecaster bursting into flame when you plug it in....

Scotty 2, SD has a web site. Wiring for all their pick-ups just go to the site and look up your pick-up

I just struck out.Couldn't get it to work.Took it to music store,they tested
it on meter and it's dead. Can I put original bridge PU back in and leave the STK 1
in neck position? Will everything be hunky-dory or what?

It's a ground wire for chrome cover !

Thanks clapointe,,Ground under bridge plate is ship shape.
I'll give original PU a try.
