I've tried the Blackstar HT-5 combo and I liked it a lot. I haven't tried the Vibro Champ XD but it's half the price.
I was wondering how they compare sound wise.
Has anyone used both of them and could give their opinion?

It probably depends on your guitars and style...
They're both very good amps for the $. The SCXD actually would fare better in direct comparison. The HT-5 is better than the VCXD, unless you want some Fender tone more than 50% of the time.
If you're using humbuckers, the Blackstar is tough to beat for home use - at any price. Just pop-in a Tung Sol 12AX7 and you're set. I had the head and SEVERAL different cabs and thought it played ball with some boutique amps I had previously tried.
The ISF function is useful, and if you keep the Gain almost nil you get those Classic Rock tones.
I didn't feel the same love when I used a Strat with the Blackstar, but it really does do nice cleans and stellar OD with humbuckers.
