Scale Conversion Neck Project

Well, my '57RI has become my least favorite electric; the neck and I just aren't getting along. All of my other guitars, including my other strat, have relatively flat fingerboards. And most of the others have jumbo frets. I'm playing this one poorly, and my hand hurts pretty quickly from fretting too hard.

So I started thinking about messing with it, but the more I look into replacement necks, the more nervous I get; this project might just be over my head.

I'm thinking about Warmoth's scale conversion neck, in birdseye maple, with a tinted finish, of course. I don't know what kind of tuners to get, and I don't know whether to attempt the neck attachment myself, or let a pro do it. Your advice would be appreciated.

The guitar is already non-original, with Lace sensors, but I'd rather have a guitar I love to play (like my ASAT and other Strat) than any specific model. I really like the jumbo frets and shorter scale of my Gibsons, so I thought I'd try it on a strat.

What do you think? Is this an absurd Frankenstein project? Should I just sell the guitar to someone who will like it just as it is?

Or should I put in the time, effort and money to change it into something perfect for me?
