How could I take a computer image design that I have and actually physically put it onto a pickguard? any suggestions on the best method?

I wrap them with vehicle wrap. They are durable and better than any kind of paint. I don't have any pictures yet but have made some great ones. Most any modern sign shop that specializes in vehicle graphics should be able to create one. It should not cost more than $50.00. We do all kinds of great designs. Mine looks like ripped metal exposing some high tech components. I have another that is an American flag. Rusty tread plate looks good.

www.axetremecreations.com sell pickguards with images, they put the image under a clear acrylic guard. If that's what you're after check out their pickguard section, apparently they'll do a custom one. Though at the price+shipping Sixwire's idea may be better for you

A couple of days ago I ran across a link for Greasy Groove Inc., who apparently will also do custom image pickguards. I can't attest to the quality of their stuff, as I've never personally done business with them. You have to email them for prices on custom jobs, but there's a link for such queries in the right sidebar.

I have used waterslide decal paper successfully, in the past, on a scratch plate.
