The bane of my Squier Standard Tele's existance is the input jack and cup. It just comes out all the freakin' time. I'll pull the cord out and here comes the cup and jack with it. This has several times severed one of the two connections to the jack making me bust out the soldering iron to reattach it. I did this again recent and tried to screw in the cup a little tighter, cashing the wires inside to coil too much and crossing the two input wire, causing feedback whenever it's plugged in. I love my Peavey EXP's input jack which is doubled-bolted to the body, what should I do to fix this recurring problem?

Here's what I did, it's called an electrosocket. Got mine on ebay.http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0RwDVAhEUAK0C9n3BCSXLaHGkIDmW59U0Rg78nm9!DeMqjwzBa skjRoOSA1k71jOV712ots4Oo9luRIy0exeNyJXoKQVWXtaRWpl rYmEL1t8/100_0693.JPG?dc=4675482084592359476[/img]

Replace it with an Electrosocket , that are available from many suppliers, here is some information:

The Electrosockets thread is SAE not Metric, Switchcraft jacks have SAE threads, you may have to change your jack, well worthwhile to do.

Wow cool! Just ordered a black one to go w/ my blond tele. Is this a common tele problem?

Ths problem has been discussed many times, the answer IMO is "Yes and No", I have three Teles, and one you just could not get that Jack to stay in, so in with the Electrosocket, the other two, never any problems, so go figure!.

It's common enough that you can buy a fix for it fairly easily  I've found (and it may just be me...) that lower end Teles seem to have this problem more than the high end or vintage ones. It seems that the jack on my '73
is made of heavier guage metal than the one that was on my now Electrosocketed MIJ '94.
