Thoughts on the Cool Cat Vibe and Chorus?

Any satisfied users?

I have the chorus and I love it. I really only use it for a faux leslie kind of sound but it does that (and regular chorus) well. I've never tried the Vibe.

The new Cool Cat line, right? not the older chorus they called the Cool Cat.

If it is the newer type, do you find the mix/eq knob annoying? I was looking at one in the store and it's impossible to adjust easily.

I heard some complaints on the vibe about volume and delay.

I just picked up a vibe for 20 bucks recently. It does take a moment to start after you push down on the pedal, and there is a little boost in volume that you cannot control. I find it useful as a swirl effect - kind of like a phasor meets tremolo sound. I find it useful for Hendrix or Gilmour-esque stuff, swampy ryth or background riff accentuation. It is a cool effect, and for $20, you are getting more pedal than the price you pay. People have said it is similar to a univibe, but I don't know that personally.

about 50 seconds in to 1:45 this kid kicks it in - see what you think. It does sound like this, and for me, I'm glad I have one.

You might want a chorus as well... you never know. Personally, I'm not a chorus guy.

I have a cool cat chorus (CC-1) and I like it. I don't use a lot of chorus, so I'm no connoisseur, but I think it sounds plenty good, and the mix/eq knob is a unique and handy feature that I haven't seen on many other pedals.

Knob placement and the switch are the big detractors for the whole cool cat line, IMO, but I can personally overlook it considering their other features and price. For the occasional dash of modulation, it's tough to beat in terms of bang for the buck.

I guess the vibe is different than a vibrato effect, but the chorus can double as a vibrato. Just sayin'. Hope that helps.

Yes. The CC-1, from the new line.

Yes, I do find the knob placement annoying, but as ChipOnly says, that's pretty much the case with all the pedals in the Cool Cat line. They're still worth it though. They sound so great for such a low price, it's hard to complain. Also, I'm used to it now so it doesn't really bother me.

When adjusting the "mix" part of the mix/eq knob it's easy. It's the "eq" part that's a pain. You just have to grab the whole assembly to adjust the eq, then turn the "mix" part back where it was.

I don't know anything about the vibe pedal.
