help with putting a compilation demo together

Me and my bandmates will be wrapping up the recording of a few songs soon that we recorded for the purpose of making a demo to help with getting gigs. What we want to do is put approx 30-second pieces of the songs together with a short fade between. I did this years ago manually on tape, but I don't know how to do it on the computer with the .wav files.

Can a program like Audacity be used to do this and / or can anyone give me some other ideas?

Yes you can go to the effect tab, you will see fade in and fade out.

Any stereo or multitrack audio editor should be able to do it.

I've done this before cross=fading between tracks.

Thanks guys - I'll give it a try. I am trying to put 2-3 tracks together onto 1 track (with short fades in between song sections), if that makes a difference?
