I have a Super reverb which has a mix of Alnico and ceramic speakers in it.

They are 8 ohm each, but I have no idea how many watt each speaker can handle.

Can anyone help?

Would need to know what the speakers are (brand, model, etc.). Super Reverbs never came with a mix of alnico/ceramic, so at least two of your speakers are not original.

Pre 1975 SFSRs put out 40 watts RMS.If yours is one of those, each speaker sees around ten watts. It's unlikely any of your speakers are rated at less than that.

The SF SR is a 74. The speakers are old and what used to come with it. Both blue labels, one possible the CTS, the others, not sure, but they are Fender.

I thought some of the Super Reverbs did come with two alnicos and two ceramics, something about needing the ceramics on top to clear the chassis. Maybe I'm misremembering...

I really hope that they are more than 10w, since I'd like to make a cab out of them... I know my replacement speakers in this SR are 35 Watt each.

Maybe I should add that I'd like to make a 2x10 cab from the AlNiCo ones (or the ceramic...)

As such, I really need to know how many watt they can handle before I plug any head into it.

Hey Alex,

Can you post pics?

My guess is that if they are stock in an SR they are 20-25W each.

See if you can find speaker codes as well.
