two questions about vol/tone pots???

question#1 are tone and volume pots the same thing just in different positions ? sounds dumb i know :confused:but need to order all three for my strat cause the ones i have are all nasty sounding and scratchy (tried cleaning them no avail) im not a tech im having them installed so i need to know if i order three pots will one be a volume and the others for tone?? qst#2 : what number 250k or 500k is recomended for fender texas specials as im upgrading with these
any inputwould be appreciated?? :grin:

Fender web site will show three 250k Audio taper pots. These will work well with Texas Specials. The next thought is the cap that you will use. Newer strats use .022 old reissues use .1 and some people like a .047. You could also reuse your original cap. I like having the first tone control for the neck pup and the second tone control for the bridge pup. Have fun, Wayne
