Between these two pups - which reaches the "P-90ish" sound?

Hi there, I am a new member today. I have a warmoth tele build that has a set of the Suhr's with a 4way switch. I also have an early '90's Gibson LP special with P-90's. These two guitars do not sound anywhere the same, if this helps. They both sound great in their own respective right, but if you are actually trying to get the P90 tone and grind out of a Suhr classic t, the only way that I can come even close is when the tele is in the 4way series mode -- then it sounds fairly close (pretty clean at that). Hope this helps is some small way . . . .

Special T is rounder but I wouldn't call it a P90 sound...tele bridge with more mids..

I'm assuming you're asking about the bridge position. The Lollar Special T is a true Tele pickup. It doesn't sound like a P-90 to me. I have no experience with the Suhr. Lollar now offers a version of the Charlie Christian that is designed to fit in a Tele bridge and, based on the demos I've heard, comes close to a P-90 tone.

I love the Suhr Classic T but it's not anything like a Lollar Special T as far as boosted mids. Special T is closer to P-90 territory, but not exact.
