Neil Young "dead Man" Overdrive pedal?

I'm looking for an OD pedal that can get close to the lead here

I'll be using a AVRI Jazzmaster, malekko chicklet, BBE sonic stomp and vintage traynor yvm-1 into a single weber neomag 15"

any recommendations?

Durham Electronics' Crazy Horse seems to totally capture Young's OD/"twuzz" (Tweed-overdriven-into-fuzz)---though you may need humbuckers. Check out samples on Youtube or on Durham's own site. Read up on it---sounds versatile after a sort of bizarre fashion.

I've never heard of this pedal before, it looks perfect to play Uncle Neil's overdriven stuff. I wonder how it would pair with an AC30.

Granted, clips recorded with a Jazzmaster with a filtertron bridge pickup direct to Amplitube Fender, so it's hard to gauge how close it's going to sound vs with the right guitar and a real amp. It seems to get the general character, but not quite as dynamic or real.

I think Neil Young's overdrive is called a Fender Tweed Deluxe Amplifier.
If you're poor, get a Pro Junior, put some better tubes and speaker in it and turn it up to 11. I have an MI Audio Neo Fuzz that does really cool 'amp about to blow up' germanium fuzz sounds (the pedal has bias and load controls so you can really match or...better yet---MISmatch the pedal with your pickups and make some sick distortion in front of a tube amp.

Neil's amp is a modified 5e3 style deluxe. The Crazy Horse and the Les Luis pedals will get you close.

The Les Lius will definitely get you into the 'Neil zone' - even at lower volumes.

With my classic rock band we play 'Like a Hurricane' and the LL does the best approximation of that tone I've ever heard. I got several compliments on my tone at our gig last week (which was the first time I'd used the LL at a gig).

I've had good luck running a Prescription Experience into a Tonebone Classic. I run the Experience w/ gain about halfway up on the fuzz channel and the Classic about 3/4 up on gain. Sounds best on my Danelectro's bridge p/u. Makes me wish I had a gtr. w/ a bigsby!

After you have the right fuzz pedal sorted make sure you put an analog delay BEFORE the fuzz pedal in the chain.
