Signal Chain Opinions

I have a Boss CS-3 compressor, a Dano CT-1 Cool Cat Tremolo, a ProCo Rat from the 80s and a Boss AC-3 acoustic simulator. I would only use the AC3 by itself, so it's last in the chain. The way I understand it, I should hook them up: CS-3 > CT-1 > Rat > AC-3, because the trem is a dynamic pedal, so it goes before distortion. The compressor should always be first unless you have a preamp, if my understanding is correct. The question is, am I correct or should the trem go after the Rat?

I'd instinctively plug them in

Rat, Comp, Trem etc but not having them i can't tell. Bottom line is what sounds best to you.

Hmm, all the discussions I've seen always say to put the comp before the distortion. I'll try Rat > Comp > Trem and see how it sounds. Thanks.
