Hi everyone, I found what might be a pretty good deal on a craigslist strat, but I could use some help from the real experts. Here are the largest pictures I have:

The seller seems to have no clue other than he bought it at a pawn shop. The serial number is Z8065132, which suggests American made, but the color and the stickers are throwing me.

Could it be an American neck on one of the MIM "Classic Series" 50s strats? Did Fender offer Surf Green on American Standards in 08-09? I can't just go look at the guitar because it's about 70 miles away, but if I knew ahead of time that it was a genuine American Standard, it would be worth the trip.

Thanks in advance, you guys are the true experts!

Send the serial number to Fender and see if it's legit and what they say it should be. You can e-mail them from the website.

It looks right but it could also be Chinese. They make some pretty dead on ones and they do pop up on CL fairly often, at least in the DFW area.

I was on the Sweetwater site. They are making a Surf Green USA vintage type strat.

Whay not just ask the seller what it says on the sticker on the pickguard?

I am probably wrong but BOTH stickers look identical to me, "Super Bullets" ? That sticker is usually only on the rear of the instrument, right? Sorry, I've no idea what it is other than that.

The truss-rod adjustment opening on the neck looks wrong to me. The neck is not MIA, MIM or a Fender vintage RI. My guess would be Squier Affinity or some replacement neck.
