American Standard Tuners on Squier Tele

I'm looking to upgrade the tuning pegs on my
Squier telecaster. Will the American std. tuners be a direct replacement? Or will I have to drill or get conversion bushings.

There will have to be some conversion. The American tuners have little pegs that fit into holes to align them and don't have any screws but any Squier I know of has screws to hold them in place. So there will be drilling new holes, and filling old ones, unless you don't care about exposed holes on the back of the headstock!

Not if the Squier has Ping tuners. They use the same two pin config as the Fender tuners.
