His mother dies last week and he dies this week? WOW. And I never knew he was being stiffed all these years on royalties. You think "he must be on the gravy train with all those royalties rolling in every month."

An old friend of mine who is a terrific guitar player grew up with him in Cork, Ireland and said he was a great guy. R.I.P.

Wow - somehow he survived the 60's( unlike Jimi ) only to go now!
I figured he was older than that, must have been just a kid when he played with Hendrix , and that had to be a trip too, since Noel really wasn't a "bass" player, from what I've read Hendrix did a LOT of the bass parts in the studio himself.

According to McDermott's Hendrix bio, both Mitchell and Redding took lumpsum buyout's and signed away all rights to future royalties back in the early 70's.

Those shoulda, woulda, coulda's will get you everytime
