Stock pickups in a FSR MIM Standard Ash Telecaster

Not the model that had butterscotch finish and vintage noiseless pickups.
I have read some places that they are Tex Mex pickups in that particular model but it seems unlikely to me. The MF site said they are Standard pickups.
I emailed Fender earlier today but I have a feeling they probably won't give me a satisfactory answer. Do you know a reliable source? It was not listed on the Fender.com site either.

Fender have always been great with my inquiries. I'll bet they'll let you know for sure.

I left the stock bridge pickup in mine, it sounds great. I found the neck unit lacking, so I swapped it out for a Bill Lawrence Keystone I had left over from my Esquire upgrade. The whole package sounds perfect now, IMHO.

Whether the originals are TM, I'm not sure, but my bridge is pretty hot, with a lot of nice growl.

I don't think that I have played it much plugged in but I kind of want to know whether they are Tex Mexs or Standards.

My Tech told me that the later year Fender MIM Standard Teles have overwound hotter pick-ups. I love the sound of the stock pups in my '09 MIM Tele

Tex-Mex tele pups, afaik. dunno if fender changed the pups on the newer models, but my 2008 MIM FSR ash tele has 'em.

How did you find out it is those in it? Did it say on the specs page where you bought it? Did you check the pickups? Thanks

how would you know by looking at the pickups if they are Tex-Mex?

I have an '06 Ash FSR. It came with the same pups that are in the Nashville Tele: Fender Tex-Mex. I replaced them with a set of Bill Lawrence Wildes (L-280T neck, L-290T bridge). The stock bridge pup was just fine but the neck pup was really muddy. The Wildes really opened up the tone, especially the neck.

Ciao,
Rick

i emailed fender customer service. they do need to know the serial number of your guitar to verify, though.

there won't be any info on the fender website. as i'm sure you know, the FSR std ash tele is sold only by the GC/MF/music123/etc group, so it's not really a "standard" model (if that makes sense).

The "Standard Tele Ash" MIM comes with the same "regular boy" pups as the MIM Standard Teles.

I emailed a guy at Fender that someone suggested and he sent me some specs that read that they are TEX MEX. I'm happy about that.
