TreRocker December 25th, 2009, 01:47 AM Does anyone have any suggestions?
I had the EH MicroSynth, but it crapped out. I'm thinking of the PigTronix mother-ship or whatever.
I currently run fuzz, wah, octave, od, dist into the amp and get some pretty cool sounds. I'd probably put the synth in the loop.
Does anyone know of any others?
thanks

Well its another EH product called the POG or its smaller sibling the MicroPOG.
hannigan December 25th, 2009, 02:05 AM wolf computer if I recall was pretty darn sweet
Heathfinnie December 25th, 2009, 10:08 AM Expensive now, but you could always try to find one of the Rolands like the GR-300...

The Line 6 Filter Modeler does some cool synth and filter stuff. They aren't really expensive and they are programmable. Might be something to check out?
=-) PJ
Will Chen December 28th, 2009, 04:15 PM It totally and completely depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If simple filtering and octave fuzz waveshapes, check out the Digitech Synth Wah or their older Space Station (though you'll need a bypass box for this one as it's a tone sucker). The Line 6 FM box is pretty cool as is the Boss Synth Bass. However, to get those Metheny-esque tones, you've got to go with a Roland system, though the GT-10 did a pretty good monophonic version of it.
wildschwein December 29th, 2009, 08:22 PM Yeah, the Digitech Synth Wah is pretty cool for some old-school Moog sounds. It also has some okay envelope follower stuff in it too - I like the vocal sound in the filter presets best. They sort of have a robotic type of quality that is good for greasy pentatonic riffs. You don't have much control over the individual parameters of the sound though like you do with a Microsynth but for the price it sounds good. And it's compact.

CIM December 29th, 2009, 09:03 PM Line 6 M13 or M9 has several synth effects as well as most of the sounds of the already mentioned L6 filter modeller and a world of other wacky stuff including expression pedal control capability of whatever parameters you like.
gunslingerdit December 29th, 2009, 09:18 PM i have the FM4, and it's so hard to master and tweak, hahaha...eventhough the sound is good. But, i hate the fact that it is monophonic. How about the Digitech Synth or the POG? Is it any better and easier to tweak?
anyway, if you want some synth sound you could probably use overdrive into digitech whammy, some of the sound it creates are just toy synth-like...
