Head to head with the Inspiration!

Today the local guitar shop allowed me to do a side by side comparison of my blackguard thinline build with the Custom Shop model that inspired it. Since I'm obviously biased , I had two independent judges helping me out.

Overall fit and finish were pretty close! The RR BSB is a shade darker than the Fender, and my use of a dark grain filler may have been a bit too much (I'll use Light next time). Mine (a 3 lb., 1 oz. USACG body) was a bit lighter in weight than the Fender, but the Fender seemed to have a tad more sustain. Overall, mine actually won the tone battle (through a tweed BJ) as it had a deeper, richer sound. The Fender was a bit on the "tinny" side. Mine has a set of CS Nocasters, and I believe the Fender does as well. Overall, it was a pretty satisfying experiment!

Here are a couple of impromptu iPhone camera pics. My guitar is on the left.

i like the colour of yours more, the other seems a bit too 'vomity'. Great looking guitar man.
