Hey, I am an avid tele fan and have been my whole life. My favorite guitar ever is the 1972 reissue telecaster. Ive never had the privilege of playing an original vintage one sadly.

What I am currently working on is a stratocaster. Home made. Maple Body.

Regardless of what i decided to do with it ill post pics when im done.

But my question is how would is sound if i put a 72 reissue pickup in a stratocaster and would i have to custom cut the hole because those pickups are bigger than regular humbuckers. Or could i order one to fit a telecaster 72 pickup?

Thanks

There are other members here who are real experts on reissue WRHB, but I believe they are actually normally HB in a larger formfactor (to give it the vintage look & feel).

I suspect you can take the coils out of the case if you really want to, but then it might be easier to route the body/pickguard instead.

It's one of my dream projects at the moment!

A surf green Strat with a 70's Strat headstock and WRHB's - A Stratocaster Deluxe of sorts?

The Re-issue '72 Wide Range Humbuckers are held in pretty low esteem by most people. Some like them, but the vast majority of players find them to be rather dull and lifeless. There are some full-size options out there that sound awesome.

Well if people dont regard the 72 tele pickups highly then what do you recommend i put in it?

Well, ahem, uh, click the link below and look at "MOD 1" for the WRHB. You might like it.
