jim_pridx December 7th, 2009, 06:45 PM Nice lefties you have there. Just wait until Southpaw sees this thread!
I once had four Heritage guitars, but now I'm down to just these two; an Eagle Classic and an H-535:

beez December 7th, 2009, 06:58 PM I have a Golden Eagle, with a floating p'up. It is a great sounding archtop, with a super rhythm sound. I mostly play it acoustically, but sounds great when plugged in as well.

64Strat December 8th, 2009, 12:27 AM this is an awesome guitar! Second run of the H137 Les Paul Special from the original factory and some of the original people.
This is the 10th one made & the first one in this "faded" see through Cherry finish developed for a more vintage look. Also selected the finest components on earth for this guitar- Pigtail adjustable bridge, Lollar P-90's, Honduran Mahogany slab body finished with "real' nitrocellulose Lacquer. The last of the 1st ten made, absolutely "killer" P-90 machine with all the "best" parts.

neon333 December 8th, 2009, 11:01 PM I've always wanted to check out a 535. I've never seen/played a Heritage guitar in person. Are they really like old Gibbies? I hope they are. Even the current custom shop guitars from Gibson have a somewhat sterile feel.

In my taste test of gits I found that Heritages sounded like the classic Gibsons . . .
I really love my H150 and planning to get another Heritage (after a few teles)
Too bad G&L ASATS don't have the Fender Tele twang . . .
I had pics up but I don't like using imagebam because it puts pr0n ads . . . and trying to find my photobucket account . .. on my old PC.

Joe-Bob January 11th, 2011, 09:26 PM Nice! Jimmy Wallace?
Yes, as a a matter of fact. Bought it from Jimmy on Saturday. He's a really nice guy and has some really cool stuff in his store.
BTW -- I have a the Gibson version of your guitar, very similar color, but with a pickguard. It had P-100s in it when I got it, and I did not like them. A pair of Duncans later, and it's my favorite guitar sound. That's why I went with the Heritage with P-90s.
stevieboy January 12th, 2011, 12:30 PM I knew Jimmy Wallace had at least one. I happened to be in Dallas during the Arlington show, and saw one there in his booth. Maybe even that one, the P90 535 version is still pretty rare. I played it briefly, hopefully didn't put any bad mojo into it that you have to play out of it!
Joe-Bob January 12th, 2011, 11:19 PM It may not be the same one, I'll ask next time I'm over there. I get the impression that stuff doesn't hang around his store for very long.
I don't know how rare it is, Jimmy said they custom ordered it. It has the full center block and all like a regular 535. Also, it has plastic tulip key, Gibby-style Grovers instead of the kidney bean Rotomatics.

Nice axe, I'm in negotiations with the wife and may be able to pick it up tomorrow. Anything you can tell me about it? I guess I'm curious how you ended up with it being a lefty and all. android December 7th, 2011, 03:01 PM Guys, what's the easiest way to go about getting one of these guitars? I'm in Charlotte, NC and per the Heritage website we have a local dealer but they (LA Guitar Factory) don't really seem to be a typical guitar store...more like lessons and speciality luthier type stuff for classical instruments.
Anyways, other than ebay is there a best way to proceed? I'd like a h-535.

My bad brother, I found this post online and assumed you were the seller:
http://tinyurl.com/6oj3jva
Anyway, I bought it and it is simply the best guitar I've ever owned (and I've owned quite a few!) Turns out this one belonged to one of the teachers at the store where I bought it. He had bought it new from that store 13 years ago when they carried the line, so it's a one owner guitar with fairly low miles by the looks of it. It didn't come cheap, but I hope to have it for a few years.
I appreciate what an advocate you are for Heritage, it's fun rooting for an underdog isn't it? :-D Take care.

If you want to go new, an online dealer is the best way for most folks. I bought my 535 last year through Jeff Hale in Wisconsin, even though I'm in DC. Terrific guy, terrific dealer.

It's nice to see a Heritage H-110 here. The company often doesn't get its propers, and within the company, the H-110 is generally overlooked. When the model came out, I sat up and took notice. Heritage makes some classics, and the H-110 continues the legacy to a new level. Here's mine:
Plugged-In January 6th, 2012, 09:25 AM Just to add to my previous post: H-110 models come in either solid or chambered versions. I spec-ed mine out with the chambered version, requesting the factory cut in an f-hole, include one tone pot and just one volume pot, a pickguard, Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups, and a coil-tap switch.
Stephen August 27th, 2012, 08:19 PM That is one great looking and I bet sounding H-110.
Plugged-In August 27th, 2012, 10:24 PM That is one great looking and I bet sounding H-110.
Thanks. I recently snagged another H-110 in "minty" condition. It's a chambered version in vintage sunburst with Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 pickups. I haven't had a guitar with these pickups until now, and they also sound good.

Nice score! It's good to see you here, too! As you know, I was looking at that guitar for a while as well, but I still wouldn't mind the notion of landing a solid-bodied version of the 110.

Small world. Yeah, I really like these H-110s with their full upper fret access and body shape, among other features. Both of mine are chambered, but if you want a solid-body version, you may need to make out a custom order, if you want one sooner rather than later, due to the scarcity of these Heritage models.

I have an opportunity to buy an H-137 (cherry, Lollar P-90's, wrap around bridge) from a guy who is....not exactly a friend, but a jamming acquaintance. Good guy, but can't say I know him well. We're trying to figure out what a "fair" price would be, but there aren't many of these guitars on the used market and, to complicate things, he traded in a nice Guild Bluesbird + a long forgotten amount of cash several years ago for the Heritage and doesn't remember what it was priced at to begin with. We're trying to find the kinder side of reasonable; he doesn't need to milk every penny out of it, he's just thinning his considerable herd since he doesn't play it much.
Any suggestions from Heritage owners?

Sent you a message.
7171551 April 20th, 2013, 07:57 PM Hi Folks, count me in!
I don't know a lot about it, but was seduced by the looks and style lol. This is from the auction listing:
"This is a 1992 All Gold custom special. Binding has aged nicely. There have been a number of upgrades including 500k CTS pots, hand wired vintage wire with orange drop caps and treble bleed circuits. Knobs are modern top hat variety. Switch is genuine switchcraft. Pups's were hand wound at the Creamery in Manchester so an Al 2 neck and highish output Al 4 in bridge, fitted a couple of years ago. Result is 3 distinct sounds off the switch and lots of in between tones with tone controls that really do work. The pups offer a clarity of notes that is very unusual for humbuckers and gives a wonderful blues tone and a very sweet overdrive tone on my blackstar ht stage 60.
Neck is oh so thin, action is medium and is a delight to play on 10;s. Weight is around 7/8lbs or so. Fretboard is rosewood from the days before we were green, frets are polished and even. Tuners, bridge and tail stop are original.
Been well played over the years, so its not mint, and had a major fret redress and new bone nut some years back, The fret work is good but the nut fit isnt that pretty- although fully functional. A few minor age/use related marks and thats it. Scratch plate and fittings included.
Apparently it is a rare guitar; the dot inlays were only on the custom specials I have been informed. I didnt know that and I bought it because I liked it, weighing less than the others and played well."
...Great guitar. Really feels "Well used and well played." Out of curiosity, can anyone comment on just how rare it may be?
Sorry for the long post, here are some pics:

That's an H-150P .... P for poplar, i.e. poplar body no maple cap. They were a less expensive version of the H-150CM which has a mahogany body and maple cap. The 150P also has a thinner body and dot inlays with no neck binding to reduce cost. The 150Ps also were available in solid colours, black, red, blue, white, gold, again to reduce cost as poplar doesn't have the grain for a bursted or natural finish.
Don't know what wood the neck was made from, but again it's painted unlike the mahogany necked 150CM where the grain of the wood is always seen.
The 150 Special was a different model, thicker mahogany body with maple or sometimes mahogany top, dot inlays with a body thickness in between the 150CM ( full body thickness) and the 150P ( thinnest 150 )
Both the 150P and 150 Special are no longer available. The 140 has replaced both and it has a thinner body than the 150CM with mahogany body, maple top, dot inlays, no neck binding.
For more info check out the HOC, the Heritage Owners Club.
SouthpawGuy April 22nd, 2013, 06:40 AM btw the hardware is Schaller roller bridge and tailpiece, stock for that period. Original pickups would also have been Schaller. The 150P wouldn't really be considered to be rare although there are probably very few of them in the UK.
The serial number prefix letter indicates the production year with a "C" being 1986, "D" 1987, "E" 1988 etc.
In 2010 they used "AA", 2011 "AB", etc.

Hi Southpaw Guy and thanks for the info! I would be keen to find out more about this model, but haven't seen anything about it at all on the official Heritage site. I see some posts from owners of 150 P's on the HOC, but no real facts.
Can I ask what thickness the thinner body is? Because this one is 49mm around the body edge (increasing in the centre obviously due to the carve.) It seems pretty "normal" thickness to me for a LP style guitar. In comparison, my 2012 Gibson LP Studio is 45mm.
I popped the control covers and the neck pickup hoping to confirm the woods used, but didnt really learn anything! The cavities are thoroughly shielded and the pup route is painted black. The pup ring screw holes in the top did look pretty white, which probably supports it being Poplar.
It may not be clear from the pics posted earlier, but this neck IS fully bound up to the nut in the Gibson style, eg fret "nibs" covered by binding.
From what little I can see under the Trussrod cover, the headstock MAY be Mahogany- but I can't be positive.
The SN commences with an "I", making this a 1992 as advertised. Like I said earlier, I'd love to find out more.. So further input welcomed
SouthpawGuy April 22nd, 2013, 05:35 PM It may have been a custom ordered 150P, hence the bound neck, Heritage are a custom shop at heart. The 150P's were all solid colours, the all over gold finish with the painted back and neck is a give away. The full thickness 150 has a 2" body rim, yours is the same, it should be about 1 1/2" thick. They produced several versions of the 150 in different body thickness and wood combinations and they're no longer on the Heritage website. The body and neck wood would have been described as " hardwood".
If it's a 2" thick rim it would be expected to weigh at least 8lbs and sometimes over 10lbs, my own 150CM is 8.2lbs and the 157 is 9.4lbs. If it's under 8lbs with a 2" rim mahogany body then you got a very special custom order !

Thanks for this, really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge! What you advise pretty much seems to therefore corroborate and confirm the info on the original ebay listing.... EG It's a nicely weighted, probable custom ordered guitar.
Heritage do seem relatively rare here in the UK- and I have never seen another like mine for sale.
If I ever get the chance to buy a full "Les Paul spec" H-150, I won't hesitate!
