That Bender is very cool, Ramseybella!

So unusual that it would be a lefty player who would move the Control Plate inboard, given the extent to which Lefty Guitars are outnumbered by the Other.

Well, I was hoping to take some new pics of my blonde and post them here, but the wife's not cooperating. Uh, wait...did that sound funny? (Wink, wink.)

My wife Beth (a brunette, BTW) got a new camera on Black Friday, but she hasn't had time to do much with it yet, and not only am I technologically challenged but I stink at taking pics. So for now I'll post the pics I have of my blonde. Here they are/she is.

http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/500/medium/Alder_Thinline_-_UNI_2511.jpg

She's a Logan Custom "Logo" Thinline. She's actually the prototype of Bob Logan's "Logo" Thinline series, where the cutout is a script "L" to approximate the "L" of his Logan brand on the headstock. Alder veneers, Honey Blonde color, nitro finish.

In this forum, most any "Tele"-style counts. A few members here may wish it weren't so, but common consent and usage here has long accepted "T"-style guitars not made by FMIC.

Of course "Fender" counts, but also Squires and G&Ls. Other brands producing Tele styles include Peavey, Hohner, SX, Xaviere, Jay Turser, and the list just goes on. Then of course there are custom Teles, "homebrews" (homemade Teles) and partscasters.

Besides, partscasters and customs (my own Logan) have already been listed in this thread. So feel free to share pics of your blonde.

The problem is, I can't find them!

I've checked my computer and my wife's, but no luck. I'm hoping that she has them in some folder I don't recognize. At any rate, I intend to make good on my word, just as soon as I can.

MAN, I love this guitar. It is VERY loud acoustically. Really just surprisingly loud, not sure why that is. It's all I've played for the last couple months.

I did do a thread showing how I did the butterscotch finish, starting with plain Fender Blonde, then tinted/clear lacquer until I was happy with it.
http://www.tdpri.com/forum/tele-home-depot/196887-watching-paint-dry.html

My pics are always so bad, but it's the best I seem to be able to do. Might help if I'd cleaned/wiped it down before pics, but this is just as it is. The details of the pine grain show through very clearly in real life.

Back some time ago (January?) I talked about posting a new pic of my honey blonde Logan Custom "Logo" Thinline. I forgot to make good on that. In my defense however, we did suffer a house fire in May, so my forgetting to post an updated pic is at least somewhat understandable. Anyway, better late than never, I guess...here she is:

BTW, she made it through the fire; all five of my guitars and all but one of my amps made it out.

Is that a mark or a route on the lower bout nearest us? Does it have some significance?

Congrats on surviving mostly intact.

Thanks. Before the firefighters had even completely extinguished the flames, the first of our possessions to come out the front door were three of my guitars! They then asked me if I had any more, and I told them where my two other guitars were, as well as the amps. They went back in and brought them out to me. I remember thinking at the time, "One of you guys has got to be a guitar player!"

Is that a mark or a route on the lower bout nearest us? Does it have some significance?

That's a route on the lower bout, a specially designed cutout for a thinline, instead of the customary f-hole. It simulates the capital cursive letter "L" from the builder's name, Logan, as in Bob Logan of Logan Custom Guitars. Hence the designation Logan Custom "Logo" Thinline. This one happens to be the prototype model.

BLonde Blackguards - though one is not a Tele

Mad-Mike, is that Jazzmaster really a Blonde Blackguard? The way it looks on my monitor, I would call the finish "Natural," and the pickguard has a kind of graininess to it in the photo that made me wonder if it's a tort guard. That Squier, though, definitely Butterscotch Blonde and Blackguard. Is that the Affinity?

Yeah, I was not sure about weather to post it or not since I've seen some blonde tele's with more grain exposed than others. That was kind of the idea behind the guitar when I was building it was applying a late 70's Tele aesthetic to a mid-late 70's Jazzmaster. I wanted a blonde finish but live in an apartment, so I picked some Manor Oak Minwax Wood sheen which gave it a rather blonde tint.

The pickguard indeed is black though. That pic was taken with an 8 year old digital camera in dark light...here's a daytime picture when there was a different neck on it for awhile (I was so excited to finally have a Jazzmaster I used my Squier Strat's neck on it for awhile).

Well, I have posted my Honey Blonde on here before, but I thought I had also posted pics of my Butterscotch Blonde, but looking back, turns out I haven't.

My BSB is by the same builder as my Honey Blonde, Bob Logan of Logan Custom Guitars. Here she is...

http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/537/medium/Logan_Custom_Gift_Tele_Me_small_-_06-30-11.jpg

BSB nitro finish, swamp ash body, DiMarzio Twang King pups, Birdseye maple neck and board, Kluson style tuners. (That's my Honey Blonde in the background.) The bridge is unique: Bob Logan's stainless steel bridge, 3 saddles, and bridge pup with a straight versus angled alignment. Here's a close-up of that.

http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/500/medium/Logan_SS_bridge_close-up.jpg

The back of the headstock gives a better sense of the Birdseye maple and the Kluson style tuners.

Here is my blonde baby, 2007 G.E. Smith signature Tele in honey blonde transparent lacquer. I love my blonde! Here she is out behind the barn,(one of my favorite places to take a blonde!;)) and in the studio.

My two favourite things in the world are both blonde ...

My Partscaster, and my wonderful wife, who bought the blonde MJT body for my birthday last year.

vibrasonic, I love seeing pics of collections like yours, for at least a couple of reasons. For drooling purposes, first of all. But then next I will usually forward a link to my wife, so I can say "See, honey? This obsession of mine could be much worse!"

That Cabronita looks thick waisted/fat bottomed to me. It occurred to me that it could be an illusion because of the half guard. (With more body wood showing right around the waist area, it might just give the illusion of a thicker waist.)

Is it just an illusion, or does it have a thicker waist than other Teles?

I think it might just be an illusion. I took the photo on my phone and it did a weird resizing thing from portrait to landscape. The body feels the same size to me as my 62 reissue

How'd they get that pier to balance on that pole like that. Amazing.

Good ol' fashioned British Engineering... Brunel, Telford, the guy who built the balancing Brighton pier...

Here's my 1996 Tele. Pro-Tone. Bob Logan at Logan Custom Guitars replaced the neck along with a new set of Twang King pups, and Fender tuning keys. Eric Luther at Luther Leather made the alligator pickguard for the final touch.

(OK, so the acoustic isn't exactly blonde, but it's pretty nonetheless)
