Does it have the V neck? no, it is the large "u" shaped neck, it is thick. madmark December 7th, 2009, 10:44 PM I have to get me one of these... Billy B. December 7th, 2009, 11:05 PM no, it is the large "u" shaped neck, it is thick. Mine is an 83 fullerton and it DOES have a soft v neck not thick at all and I love it . Broly January 13th, 2010, 07:01 PM Here's my 2004 '57 AVRI. I bought it new and let it go in 2006 in a moment of weakness. Frets, radius, etc. FraKcture June 28th, 2010, 06:30 AM Love mine.... http://forum.leftyguitartrader.com/picture.php?albumid=16&pictureid=141 lanelec June 28th, 2010, 10:03 AM Best Strat RI IMO I will never let mine go 2001 model LOSTVENTURE August 25th, 2010, 01:12 PM I've got the limited edition Mary Kaye, and the neck is tiny compared to the soft "V" of the baha if that's any help. Don WaylonFan76 September 2nd, 2010, 07:40 AM Replaced pickguard and Van Zandt True Vintage pups. It is a TONE MONSTER ! rolling56 September 2nd, 2010, 08:17 AM Love mine.... http://forum.leftyguitartrader.com/picture.php?albumid=16&pictureid=141Nice to see a lefty one  Mid Life Crisis September 2nd, 2010, 11:42 AM Here's mine, a mid-90s (can't tell because the last digit in the year is illegible) model. Like many from that time, it actually has a C-neck, slightly thinner than a 60s C. I had it refretted recently with Dunlop 6105s, as the old frets were worn so low it was getting difficult to play. The 6105s feel great. http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg161/pronovotech/011-1.jpg http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg161/pronovotech/014.jpg Kieren July 10th, 2011, 08:25 PM And here is mine as well. I'm not sure I'm a Strat kind of guy - I'm much more at home with a Tele - but its a good guitar! telex76 August 8th, 2011, 05:06 PM Here is mine from 2000. Great sounding strat I played it alot for the 1rst 2 years I had it before I got so into telecasters. I usually play it at least 2 times a month. karlkrash November 22nd, 2011, 07:01 PM Hi I'm on my phone not sure if I can upload a pic but will try. I have a 1986 Mary Kaye 57 ri it sounds great! It's very heavy ash however so I only play it sitting down most of time, haha.I love the sound of the pickups-honestly sounds better than my old vintage 1966 strat. I kept my 1968 strat as they sounded better/different than my 66. Pics to come soon :-) thanks! karlkrash November 22nd, 2011, 07:07 PM Here are the pictures, using my iPhone app isn't half bad :-) brandonbq December 8th, 2011, 08:27 PM Here is one I just got yesterday. Looks to be a 1986. Plays real nice... I'll have to get some pix of my AV57RI - a 2001 in the rather uncommon color Inca Silver. telex76 February 19th, 2012, 12:45 PM 105293 105294 105295 105296 That's a beauty. icemansanjo February 28th, 2012, 04:14 PM Newbie here. LOVE the '57! Wow. Great minds think alike... Look at mine a few posts up... icemansanjo February 28th, 2012, 05:30 PM Not sure about the pickguard ....... nice porkpie though! Yeah, I'm sure about that pick guard, either - came with the guitar. I noticed one other photo on this string also had it, so maybe some of the '57s came with them(?). Working diligently on my collection of hats. Working in a blues band gives me an excuse to throw on a few "lids". icemansanjo February 28th, 2012, 05:32 PM Wow. Great minds think alike... Look at mine a few posts up... Yep. I saw that. Nice guitar, brother. I like the Van Zandts, too. I have them in a custom build. For the record, what is the official color of our guitars? It appears to be something like a vintage white that's yellowed. Also, did yours come with the pearloid pick guard? WaylonFan76 February 28th, 2012, 05:48 PM Yep. I saw that. Nice guitar, brother. Also, did yours come with the pearloid pick guard? It is indeed "Vintage White" ( aka somebody left a white 57 Strat in the sun for 20 years straight  ). I bought mine used in Austin, TX cuz I fell in love with it ( especially the neck ) but changed the pickguard to a pearloid after seeing a pic of Charlie Sexton's Strat. I'm a Charlie Sexton kinda guy... Thanks for the info! I dig Charlie's stuff, too. My band is currently butchering "Shape I'm In" as part of our set in fact. Funny Charlie Sexton story: My business partner, who lives in Austin bought a new house a few years back. His wife was in the back yard, and noticed a guy goofing around in the back yard next door (low fences I guess). She strikes up a conversation with him (she's a "life coach" so that's what she does). She asks him his name and what he does for a living. He says his name is Charlie Sexton, and he's a musician. She tells him "You know what, you should pursue your dreams, Charlie. I'm sure some day you'll make it". She then goes inside to tell her husband (who is a major music fan) about the friendly neighbor she just met and what she'd told him. My buddy was horrified that she had no idea who Charlie Sexton was, and worse, had given him career advice on what to do with his interest in music. He couldn't look Charlie in the eye for a month. I will probably keep this one in the case most of the time as more of a collector than a player. Anyhow, I reckon you can never have too many Fender guitars. Been a Fender fan since the mid 70's. |
