Hi All
I am going to put a new 10"speaker in my old Peavey SS backstage 20 from the late 70's .It sounds OK but I also want to use it as a home cab for my Blackstar HT5.When I venture out to jam sessions on a regular basis I use larger cabs supplied by the studios .I figure I can kill two birds with one stone .Upgrade the Peavey which has nice spring reverb and also plug my Blackstar into the speaker which I am doing at present. The stock speaker is useless clean and do like jazzy cleans .I thought about a Eminence Ragin Cajin,Copperhead, or a Delta Dream .I play jazz ,blues and country and the ocaisional rock freak out but mainly on phones for that:lol: ,though not to jangly ,at home ,I play Keystone equipped guitars and a P90 neck in my Thinline .Any advice offered gratefully accepted .
thanks

Of all the 10inchers in the Emi range, the Delta Demon is by faaar my fav :

. . . i assume that is the one you refered to as the "Delta Dream" ?

I would LOVE to hear a Fender Bassman 4X10 LTD RI, with four of these Delta Demons !

I really like the cheapo Emi Legend 105 - very full/fat sounding for a 10", almsot sounds like a 12"...

I'm with Roman, love the Legend 105.

I've used the Ragin' Cajun and Delta Demon, still prefer the old Legend.

Another +1 for the Legend 105... Especially if you want something that has the depth of a 12". Sweet high end too.
The Ragin' Cajun is a very aggressive speaker, jazzy cleans is definitely not what I think of with the RC. It can rock the socks off the others, though!
The Copperhead has a sweet high-end that suits country twang well.
I've never played the Delta Demon myself, so I can't comment on it.

I know the 12" Eminence Cannabis Rex gets a lot of love in these forums, but what about their 10" hempster, the Lil' Buddy? Are people fired up about it, too, or do they want to bogart that speaker?

I did look at the Lil Buddy but couldnt find one in the UK.I also looked at the Cannabis Rex but It wouldnt fit my old cab .I may well have jumped for the CR had it been a 10".
thanks

I think the Lil Buddy just came out a short time ago, so there won't be a whole lot of user reports around yet...

That reminds me: does the CRex have "Cannabis" prominently displayed on it? I'd hate to be hassled in customs

Thanks to ebay if the Lil buddy does survive customs and hit these shores I can always sell up the 105 and "invest" in a Buddy without too much of a hit .

The 105 is an incredible speaker for whatever price. It just to happens to be inexpensive.

I use it in my 2-10 cabinets

Thanks Guys
My 105 arrived this morning ,on my birthday, so I fitted it straight away,an advantage of working at home .I shoved aside 30 years of dust in the ole Peavey and installed it .A simple job as the whole front comes away .Its perfect for my uses. Those smooth but precise jazzy lows which I crave were present from the first note but it still breaks up nicely especially on my Tonerider Hot classic bridge pup .Really hits the blues spot .The Keystone on my other tele is a bit more raspy. The speaker will improve even more cranked up and run in . It really brings out the cleans in my Blackstar which is its main job as I run it through a studios 4x 12 or 4x 10 when playing with others usually or head phones when freaking out .
thanks again
forgot to add .The SS Peavey improved no end .A simple cheapish upgrade for an old SS amp .I bet some SS Fenders like the 65 DSP could do with a similar upgrade in the speaker dept .
