Which truss rod nut is currently in use on the Chinese (aka imported) Necks? For that matter, which nut is currently in use on most late model Fender products? Stewmac sells both the 8-32 and the 10-32 . I'd like to know which one I need for a Chinese neck I bought on ebay.

I'm not positive...but I would think it's probably a Metric thread ?

I think so, too.
I think truss rod size is 4mm or 5mm.

I took the hex head barrel nut I have to a nut and bolt store. I was perplexed because a (IIRC, 7/32) SAE allen wrench fit the nut perfectly. Turns out, it is a metric 5 mm. So I guess the stewmac parts will not work. Anybody know where to find these 5 mm truss rod barrel nuts with allen screw or any other head configuration?

Hosco.co.jp doesn't take web order and web site doesn't say how much in English page.
You have to order via email or fax.
They have a price list only in Japanese, you should ask them first the price and shipping cost.
If you have any problem to ask, send me a email. I can ask them in Japanese.

Hosco says they only sell to dealers by wire transfer. In case anyone else needs 5mm truss rod nuts for import necks, Warmoth has them. They are over two inches long. They will have to be cut down, but they will work, obviously. I'm glad to have found them.
